In my case I preferred everything on the Powerwedge rather than having the amp on the direct wall socket.....of course current draw from the wall is half as much on a 240Vac supply.

I used to have the my amp/preamp/phono amp on the 'filtered only' sockets - mainly because both pre and phono required 100W+ outlets and there was only one 140W transformer outlet on the Wedge.

After converting a second transformer to serve a single outlet (giving 2x140W sockets) I moved the pre and phono amps to these 140W transformer isolated sockets. This sounded better with my system - less grain, blacker backgrounds etc.
