Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
I have a ModWright Denon 5900 That does not recognize any disk present. I mentioned the problem in another forum and an inmate said he had the same problem. The problem is a faulty reader/laser component. My first contact was to Dan Wright who suggested rather than shipping the unit to him to find someone locally (San Francisco Bay area) to do the repair. I took it to a factory service location and they refused to work on a modified product. I then emailed Alex Peychev of APL HiFi who said he could do the work but phone messages and emails have gone unanswered.
If anybody here is familiar with this problem and if the repair is the replacement of a component/subsystem I feel comfortable trying to do the repair. I'm open to any suggestions.

- I think you should again contact the moder. Exemplar would not leave you high and dry. nt - Norm 06:25:44 05/23/06 (4)
- Well he didn't. His suggestion was to simply save my time. nt - Vic D 08:05:56 05/23/06 (3)
