Cleaning silver RCA´s with Deoxit?

I have seen some conflicting views on this: some clean theirs every few months, some say don´t on the basis that silver oxide is a good conductor. I also saw some claims that the latter is a myth.

Theory aside (we just do not understand everything), what are the experiences of the inmates? Does cleaning silver RCA´s with Deoxit result in a a improvement, deterioration, or is it just neutral soundwise? Was the result immediate or did you wait a few days until the effect had settled?
