Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I welcome Duster's, Alan Kafton's and other's input to help me decide on the which Oyaide outlet to install.I'm convinced from everything I've read that replacing my main dedicated line AC outlet to an Oyaide outlet would make for a real good upgrade. Currently, I am using a PS Audio Powerport. I have a Quantumn Electroclear plugged into the lower inlet of the duplex and a Custom Audio (Audigon vendor - no longer listing) copper power cord with Furutech FI-20 (R) male rhodium plug and FI-20 (G)IEC connecting to my BPT 1 Ultra. All my components feed off the BPT 1 Ultra including my Sim Audio Moon I5, Monolithic Power supply for Perpetual Technology 1A/P3A upsampling DAC, ML Aerius I. My Rel Strata sub is feed from a wall outlet. The PCs to the electronics just listed are from an inmate Alan who use to make cords (maybe still does) and the Aerius are feed with Signal Group standard power cords.
The system is pretty well "dialed in" with lots of other tweaks including bybees as jumpers on the Aerius. Silclear on every connector. Brass audiopoints under just about everything. Cables include Analysis Plus Oval 9s, AZ MC2 for the digital connect, 1st Generation PureNote Epsilon for the RCA analogue between PT P3a and Sim I5, Revelation Audio Labs I2s....
Well, the net effect is a very highly resolving, extremely coherent, holograhpic musical presentation. It alls comes together to sound like "live music". Not earth shattering or robust but still real with execptional speed and dynamics. I listen primarily to acoustic straight ahead jazz- both new and old artists.
I would also have to say the tone balance is to the cool side of normal. (Maybe a tube CD player is in the future)
The descriptions I've read of the Oyaide gold outlet sounds like it might bring the right effect to the mix but I'm not sure I should use it as the outlet off the primary dedicated line. I don't want to loose any of the current level of coherance and resolution. The platinum over gold sounds like it can have an exceptional impact too, though I'm concerned it could tip things further to the cool side. I'm torn between the two. The Rhodium over silver sounds like it will definitely tip things up too much so I ruled that out already. What do you think is the best Oyaide outlet to go with? Gold/gold or Platinum/Gold?
