If your (pardon, their) trafo is 20kVA, how do they get 40kW from it. Either you or them are missing something here, (probably some school, I would guess)? They do not know what they are talking about, or they simply do not know how to measure. After HEAVY calculations, you would find that you need aproximately 2pi*50A*825V of power to disipate in entire system to push 50A at 60Hz through a 160uF cap. Now that is about 250kW of heat to be dissipated in your lab, if you want this 50A to be continious withouth overheating the source.
It is NOT easy as it may seem at first. Or you can just use larger cap. MUCH LARGER. And I don't see any LARGE caps. Sorry you guys are doing something you do not understand.
