Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I have a pair of mono blocks that each use two 5U4GB rectifiers, so a total of four. For a number of years I used JAN Phillips but unfortunately my stash is running out and ones on the market these days are very unreliable; half are dead on arrival or die within a few weeks. Clearly seconds or thirds which is a shame since the ones I bought 15 years ago lasted a very long time. I generally prefer NOS vintage tubes but that can be expensive when I need four identical ones.
So I am looking for currently manufactured tubes that last more than a few days and of course sound good.
