I was given some of these 12ax7s and they look like they are designed like a Guided grid valve. You can see the "Active Anode Area" in my picture. They look like they are built like a 6gk5.I wonder how they get a tube, that is designed so differently (than the standard 12ax7), to act like a 12ax7?
Most of the plate is screened from the grid so tubes made this way have almost no interelectrode capacitance (and therefore almost no Miller capacitance).Tre'
