I've been messing around with line stages for 12 years or more, like most of us here. Very simple to use 2P29L or 112A in filament bias, no need for heatsinks. Rod Coleman filament regs from Lyrima.Simplest of all is the 6AH4. This is a really good sounding valve with an Rp of 1.8K and a mu of 8. Perfect.
If you like the 2C22, then even better is the CV6 aka CV1135. BUT NB!! the grid and anode top caps are reversed.
