I started playing with vacuum tubes in the '60s. If only I had known then what I know now. I still remember being given a frequency meter the size of a small refrigerator that was loaded with 45s. Back then, you could buy 211s and 845s on the surplus market for a few dollars each. 807s and 1625s were 50ยข or less.
