Hello there,
A good friend recently passed on to me an Audio Innovations AI500 amp that had been taking up space in his closet. It has been a wonderful intro to valve sound (and dangerously addictive), but has developed a sound "drift" towards the left channel, along with some distortion in the right. I'm wondering whether this is a case of getting new valves, or something more serious. Also, can anyone recommend a publication for novices like me re tips for handling/replacing valves, the importance of matching etc? All advice gratefully received.
