Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I am confused regarding the Siemens E81CC tubes. I need two for the input tubes of a Manley Snapper amp (also for a Manley Stingray). Currently I have Telefunken 12AT7 (ECC81) in the amp and have tried the Mullard 12AT7/4024 and Sylvania Gold Brand 6201. I liked the Mullard and the Telefunken. The Teles sound more lean. In some ways I would like an intermediate tube between the Mullards and Telefunkens.Any opiniions of these tubes?
Do you need to match these input tubes? I am tempted to buy unmatched due to cost.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Hany.
