In my ST-70, I liked the SED Winged C (non-cryo) that I bought from Tube Depot. It sounded closer to the Mullard fx2's that I had destroyed than any other new production EL34 that I had tried. The EH 6CA7's are also fun but I felt that they were less tonally accurate than the SED. Of course, nothing I've tried beats the old production Mullards. They're gorgeous sounding tubes. Luckily, if you've never heard them, you have the luxury of not knowing what you're missing.
