The folks at Jolida are very helpful with information on tube choices. They have tested many types, new and NOS, and can tell you how each will affect the sound. I have a JD1000RC and was looking for tubes with a more analytical top end, but still retaining that sweet warm EL34 midrange. For my preferences, they suggested trying EH (Electro Harmonix) tubes. They didn't try to sell me their tubes. They seem genuinely interested in helping you find the tubes that will give the sound you are looking for.Give Jolida a call. Tell them what kind of sound you are looking for, and I'm sure they can suggest something for you to try.
