Tubers
They are esentially the same tube construction made on the same assembly line. The Genelex name was adopted for the US market and basically it was to differentiate it from General Electric USA.
Look at the name Genelex and break it down.It stands for General Electric company of England.
Now MO valve company is Mullard Osram which is the company that made mullard and genelex and GEC which was owned my general electric of england. No affilation with GE USA.
Now you ask about sonic differences..I have a quad of every type of GEC and Genelex made and to be honest it seems the gold lion and the monarch labels seem to have a sonic edge in some amps.I cant really validate this 100% because listening standards and perceptions become subjective to the listener's own tastes.
If you look at the tubes you will see they are identical in construction pretty much but some got graded better than others and were labeled as such.Usually the best performing tubes received the gold lion label or the monarch label and the others just had the name genelex or gec and some had blue base labels and some were red base labels but to be honest I dont there is a huge difference in any of them.Hope this helps.

- "Mullard Osram" - you probably meant to say Marconi Osram (nt) - tubemonger 13:48:34 03/12/07 (1)
