When this subject came up before, I contacted Mike Sanders about cap failure. He said that this is not all that common of a phenomenon, and recommended that I leave well enough alone with my amplifier. The amp, BTW, will have been in almost continuous use for 23 years in June 2007.This is not to dispute David's advice to consider restoring the SP8 as he suggests, only that the others might not need replacing for another 20 years.
