I have a new tube preamp and push pull power amp. made by a small company, where the attention to detail on the build end is sometimes not all that it should be. The only buzz or hum i can hear through the speakers is when i touch the balance and volume control on the preamp. Otherwise, it is dead quiet. Now get this, if i stand on a rubber matt the buzz goes down a lot!
I have a filtered power bar made by Blue Circle. It is earth-grounded. All of the components in my system hook directly into this power bar,using schuko plugs with grounding contacts. I have non-balanced interconnects.
When i play my SS Blue Circle integrated, there are no hums, not even when I hook up headphone amp into the tape loop.
Any ideas on what is causing this in the preamp?
