AI preamps EAT tubes. Russian 6n23p-ev have the toughness needed to give a reasonable service life. Current production ElectroHarmonix 6922s are, AFAIK, 6n23p-ev. You can scrounge for Soviet era NOS too.US and W. European made NOS 7308s can take the AI BEATING. Prepare to part with some body parts in acquiring them.
