It's sad that there are so many Americans these days that desire the government to act as their mommies.
There's an old saying that the cure can be worse than the disease, and although there is certainly a place for resource conservation in this day and age, none-the-less history has shown us that government intrusion is never a good thing, and their getting involved in matters like this will ultimately lead to more problems than are solved.
