Luxman 105 unit tube choices

Since both the LV-105u and D-105u use the same tubes, I'll ask here for opinions.

Both units use the 6CG7 tube which Im told gives a very "tubey" sound quality. On the above link I've seen people use the RCA clear tops as well as the EI Elite tubes. I read somewhere the RCAs have less treble then others. The user went to say the EI Elites gave the best sound. Would the EI tubes be a good choice for these Luxman units?
