No personal experience with the tube, but it is reputed to be extremely durable, so the purchaser can expect, assuming the description is honest, a very long service life from the tube.In critical applications, a compatible small signal tube makes ALL the difference. I am currently running old Tele ECC83s in a phono stage and these tubes are, by a huge margin, the best tubes I have troed in my setup. The difference between it and other 12AX7 variants I have tried is enormous. If I knew that the ECC803S would sound good in my rig, I would pay that kind of money for a pair.
