I have a SCA-35 which is an integrated amp. It has a phono preamp using 2 12AX7's, passive tone controls (using wierd "PEC" components that look like oversized ceramic caps), a 7199 driver and the EL84's. The boards are pretty crispy and ST-35 boards are available and drop right in, but they use a 7247 driver with about 17db less gain. To keep the tone controls (still passive but with high quality caps and resistors in place of the PEC), I need a line stage capable of ~17db.
