I've owned an old original pv10 for many moons. The reason I've kept it so long is because it's sound ain't bright, thin, shrill, unnaturally etched. The cj pv 5, pv 11 are similar. The old Premier 3 is a great preamp with a superb phono stage. I've read good things about the Premier 10 line stage as well as the Prem. 7, but I haven't heard these pre's. All these models can be purchased used, modded or brought up to spec or better by Bill Thalman (former cj tech designer). Link below.
