But I think his actual example of tubes from Philips and others that are no longer produced still costing very little demonstrates that for audiophiles, in general, sound is paramount. Ei is still available but for this tube there are some who think they actually sound really good and once again concrete examples going back years were given to demonstrate that that attitude has predated and persisted beyond. That some will desire it because it is harder to get is true, but the examples demonstrated that the price increase and demand seems to be more related to opinions that were high for these tubes prior to their becoming hard to get.
