THESE ARE NOT FAKES. In my experience there ARE two types of authentic Telefunken ECC802S. The long-plate with the metal side tabs (mostly 1970's)and the ribbed-plate (oldest 1960's). I have both! I also have documentation that references these 2 plate types with one as pre-1960 from the ULM, West German factory. The ribbed version (I believe) was made in the Berlin plant. If anyone has further information please contact me. As far as this seller goes, he is correctly showing the difference in the plate construction. Prior to the newer longplate with shiney metal side tabs, Telefunken issued older-style plates on the ECC802S. I see a lot of misinformed inmates saying these are fake. You can not fake the old lettering that comes off easy. THESE ARE NOT FAKES. But the first BERLIN series made, I have them from Germany when I was over there with the Army. The two sides of the tube are equal and play excellent. An ECC802S is really a select ECC82 anyway, only the two amps inside or triode is matched better, and they last longer. The seller realjazzcat is correct.
