Hi, I just received delivery of a pair of Amperex 12AU7's (orange print, globe map, made in Holland). Also printed in black: 12AU7A. Top, round halo getter; grey plates. The very bottom of the base (underside) has "18" on one and "7" on the other one etched or stamped into the glass.
These were shipped by a supposedly reputable retailer as NOS.
something about them raises my skepticism. The link takes you to an album with excellent digital photos of these if anyone is willing to help me establish their authenticity.
Thanks to all of you.
Bill Oetjen
PS - the album has a couple of shots of a RCA cleartop 12AU7 that was in the same shipment. I'd appreciate any comments on this one, too.
