Every tube reproduces sound specific to each individual sound system. While there are ranges of results, the specifics depend on each individual system. Also, changing any component in a system may point to discrepancies in the system although they may not be at all obvious.
I've been using this family in my Njoe Tjoeb cd player for about four years and have been through many. I find that I lie the reproduction more as I progress up the family food chain. That is, I liked the E188CCs better than the E88CCs and I like the CCas best of all. Each upgrade gives me clearer sound, wider soundstage, better definition, better high and low extension and clarity and more realistic reproduction.I found that trying them out is the only way to know.
