Hehe. NU gray prices flucuate widely because this tube doesn't get much press (awesome tube!) like Syl metals or TS RP do. It's a relatively rare tube that has an elastic demand. I think a lot of RCA and Syl VT/GT have cropped up in the market in recent times and current demand is saturated (not sure about Raytheons VT-231 .... another tube that is underappreciated). But the beauty of vintage tubes is supply is fixed and demand is constant if not growing, so wait a bit and you'll get the prices you're after.
