From the picture I've assembled about the 7316, the 7316s in question are 1973 vintage. This tube, the Ct5, has a small o-getter ring. Ct1-Ct3 had either a large diameter O-getter or a heavy, stirrup-shaped getter. I believe the 7316 was made until at least 1975. I'm not sure about whether the Ct0-5 progression was/is entirely sequential without overlap, but I suspect it was. That is, the Ct1 was superceded by the Ct2, and as soon as the Ct2 was in production the Ct1 wasn't.To my ears in my gear all the short plate tubes sound the same. They've got that lean 'n mean, fast 'n punchy, ultra-clarity thing goin' on. The long plate 7316, the Ct0, looks and sounds much like a Heerlen-made long plate ECC82/12AU7.
