You might want to find some boat anchor web sites to locate some recommended repair techs. You can also search the archives here for names. Two of the real experts in repair of these testers namely Chris Haedt and Wendell E. Hall both sadly passed away over the last few years. Wendell Hall was the only source I knew of for replacement meters, and the glass for the Hickok tube testers sadly. Maybe in a few years someone else will have a run of these meters made and make a small bundle selling them. Other experts should be around for us now to fix these. The trick is to find an honest repair person who takes pride in their work. None of this work is exactly inexpensive, but once repaired and recalibrated your tube tester will prolly out live you. My 539b Chris overhauled and calibrated for me still has the brass name tag "Hammond Organ Co." pop rivited on it to the left of the Hickok factory metal one on the outside case cover. Whoever the tech was at Hammond who used my tt took real nice care of it because it is still in excellent physical condition. Good luck! John
