A friend wants to roll some 12AU7s. I have some nice conventional 12AU7s but also own a quad of NOS appearing 13D5s and a pair or 7136s.
He owns an Atmasphere preamp which is the gear in question.
I am utterly confused as I am technically challanged, is it a 12volt or a 6 volt filament? The last thing I want to do is destroy his expensive pre. When I the 13D5 in a Mullard Long tail amp as the input tube it functions wonderfully.
I respectfully disagree with the inmates who don'tlike it. It's clear, clean, and has presence perhaps, lacking the delicate detail the 7136 has but it never seemed to malfunction in my amp or cause any damage.
I know that a 6 volt tube will not work in this amp period. What's the truth is this a 12volt tube or some other strange beast?
