The Brimar 13D5 tubes in white boxes you see on ebay are part of a very large lot of ex-equipment, used tubes that appeared in UK about 2 years ago. Quite a few people bought these in bulk. Tubes had light use and looked quite clean.We did sell the same ex-equipment Brimar 13D5 valves for $30 a pair for a while on our web site till we ran out of that lot. A few months ago, we bought some more at higher price. And this lot was disappointing with >35% failing our tests. Good ones from this second lot are at $45/pair on our site.
Brand New in Box 13D5 are of course much higher. It is getting much harder to get desirable valves in brand new condition in quantity. Lately, a lot of sources in Europe have been trying to pass on used valves as new.
