Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I have a Wright Phono preamp that uses (2) 12au7 and (4)6er5 tubes in the preamp. The tubes were last replaced in late Dec 2004. They are now noisy. The tubes in question are JJ Tesla 12au7 and sylvania 6er5. Is this a proper lifespan for these tubes?
Another question. The preamp has a power supply which also has tubes.(1 - 6fy7 & 1- 6x4) I am assuming that I should replace the power supply tubes when replacing the preamp tubes? Is that correct? Thanks for your help.
