as this tube was made by multiple vendors over the years. The fact that they were designed into circuits over the years tells me that the device's specifications certainly made sense at the time of design and the device's relative costs were competitive for manufacturing.That said, if there was a problem with a tube, I'd expect to see one vendor's line - or perhaps some bad lots due to some manufacturing defect. Believe me, that vendor would not have lasted long in the marketplace if they were building a substandard tube.
So, I would not put credence in your asssetion, sir.
