I've been using SED's & 'old' Svetlana's for over 10 years in several different amps. They are rugged (I've never had one short out and I've always gotten a normal life expectancy) and they sound just fine. Smooth and natural. They don't emphasis one part of the spectrum as some others do. If anything they will be percieved as being a tad warm in much equipment.The tube presently being marketed as 'Svetlana' is nothing more than a Sovtek in disguise.
If I had to choose between the current Svetlana or the EH I think I'd change amps. :-)
