We all were new to the tube scene at one time or another. biasing means that you are supplying the power tubes (without knowing what amp you have, they are usually the big tubes) of a power amplifier the correct amount of current to properly drive that tube. That is a pretty simplified answer, but in your case it sounds like you won't be needing to worry about biasing because as you stated your amp is self biasing. Just make sure that when you are experimenting with different power tubes you are still using the correct tube called out for in your amp's owners manual. Have fun............Bob
