I've blown two Sovtek 5AR4 tubes in my Norh amp in the last couple of months. The first one happened when I turned the amp on and off and on again quickly. I bought a new one which lasted a couple of months, then blew last night when I turned on the power. I don't believe the problem lies elsewhere, as the amp powers up with the 5AR4 removed. Am I doing something wrong, or is it the tubes? I generally turn the amp off as little as possible in order to avoid this kind of thing.
