In the back of my mind (having had to dispose of my Dad's stuff) is the awful thought "what would my family do with all my tube stuff if I vanished one day". I'm probably not alone in being the only one in the whole family who has the slightest idea what all this tube stuff is or is worth. My ex would sell the lot to 'anyone interested' for a few hundred pounds, when I have thousands of pounds invested in tube stuff. Who would know the price of globe DHTs? Mullard 12AX7s? O-netics and Lundahl transformers? If my son had the slightest patience he'd put the lot on ebay, item by item, and that would see him through a year or two of college. On the other hand, if they rented out the room I work in, it would bring in the value of the tubes in a year or so. The economics of this hobby really don't stand up to scrutiny.
