The biggest, baddest boy on the block of current output tubes

1st-- this isn't my auction or anyone I know. I don't shill for ANYBODY. That said, Check these Shuguang EL156s out. 55 watts plate dissipation. Another 6-8 watts screens for around 62 watts total dissipation. Class A heaven. With the fall of KT90, I was left feeling a void for a PROPER tube for those high power, pure class A apps. No more. I got a quad of these about 18 months ago when they were still quite obscure on the US market, from DIY hifi supply. I was informed that Liuzhou factory in China had long produced these for East German Siemens (often boxed/labeled as Telefunken after 1980; in fact a HUGE warehouse of them in Germany has been discovered; ebay vendors have current listings for the SAME tubes, but w/Tele logo and crazy 10 pin base for $128 EACH!)Forget that. Those have that weird 10 pin socket and quality has gone UP since the 1980s "Telefunken in name only" tubes we all know about, like the noisy, poor section balance smooth plate Tele 12AX7s with the off-white, enamel logos that don't rub off. These EL156s are outstanding. I put 2000 hardcore hours on mine w/o a problem. These new ones with the brown base (mine have black bases and no logos) have a sidegetter added as well. People who know what time it is know how great the Shuguang KT88s are; these are as good or better. Slightly different sound from their KT88; more spacious and sonically balanced, like a great EL34 on steroids. Check 'em out if you have an HK Citation II or other amp that loves high current operation. They sound fantastic in my modified Dyna MKIIIs at 525VDC plates/screens and 80 ma. idle current per tube.... and they are coasting along at about 65% of max dissipation! For $128/quad I don't think you can do better. Shuguang/China is going to OWN the market for great ouput tubes soon, just like they OWN the triode market with their own branded 300Bs and 845 metal plates as well as the selected stock Tianjin 300Bs.
