made some really good stuff, I just saw an amp which had separate rectifiers for the front end and the output stage: really neat, something I've been meaning to try for a while.
At any rate the numbers on the tubes, even though you claim they are burnt out should still be legible. Usually they are identification numbers also printed on the chassis. I would reinspect the amp and make note of the designations, You'll find that most tubes are not as rare as you may think they are (just more expensive!).
