I just finished a complete rebuild of this little amp. A very simple design but hey, I'm a novice. The last problem is a slight distortion on all octaves. It sounds like a tuner not picking up a station well. All the tones are there but just slightly distorted.
I put a direct input into the volume pot and it's the same thing. So I guess I can eliminate the preamp section of the amp.
One problem I had was motorboating that turned out to be a bad 6v6 output tube.
