If it is a twist-lock type socket, and a current production amp, likely it is a Chinese copy of the original Johnson socket. These Chinese copies are notoriously bad.You can purchase NOS Johnson sockets on eBay and the screw-holes should match the Chinese copy. Or, try to bend the contacts.
Once again, above only applies if it is a twist-lock type socket.
