Hi Ed,I don't know about the resistors causing a problem, I have a Vk3i also working on 240 volts, I'm in Australia. I also have some residual noise but it's not noticeable unless my ear is about 10cm from the speakers.
Why don't you as Victor directly? In the past I asked Victor directly about any issue with my unit since his distributor is 1000ms from me and he is a very helpful guy.Cheers
