Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I have a 805 integrated amp, the 805's driven by 300b's. For a few days I have experienced an incresed hum in the right channel. Yesterday the hum seemed unstable when I turned it on, and the light from the 805 was also unstable, not so strong as usual but varying. I shut it off, as I feared something could happend. Is this a normal sign of a tube thats dying? Could this cause any harm to the amp if I try to turn it on again? I think maybe it could be the 300b causing this, as it is directly coupled together with the 805 in some way..Thanks for any comments,
Steinar
