Got a thrashed, non-working, 1000A off eBay fairly cheaply(~$65) a few years back. I was able to salvage the opts and power tranni out it. Picked up another stray power tranni for cheap and use them all in a pair of PP 7591A amps.Doesn't seem like prices have gone up too much since then. Not too expensive when you compare that price to buying new, high quality, output transformers. Although, I have seen the Opts sold as a pair for as high as $300. Doesn't really make sense, you can buy the whole receiver for ~$125, yet someone gets $300 for the opts? That's eBay for ya'.
Be patient and keep your eyes open on eBay, you may be able to pick up a really thrashed 1000A w/ good opts for cheap.
