Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Greetings everyone!
One of my friend recommended this forum as the best places to ask tube related questions. And I have a quite unique one.
I am looking to use some commercially available tubes as pulsed electron sources, my intention is to break the tube vacuum envolope, take out the plate(anode), and only use the Cathode and the Grid for the generation of pulsed electrons. I am looking for planar distribution of electrons so a planar or rectangular cathode shape is prefered. The Cathode to anode current need to be > 1 mA but does not have to be too high. Preferably the plate votage is less than 100V, and a grid voltage of no more than 30V. I'd really appreciate if any experts here can tell which type of tube to use, or where to find more info. Thanks a lot!John
