Volume and punch are to the listner's preferences as well as his/her taste in music. Having said that, I am a bit surprised that the 2A3 would not suffice for most.Might I ask a couple of questions: the 2A3's output impedance and is the 2A3 a singlet or paralell pair per channel?
A choice short of 845s would be 300Bs.
