I've got a Prologue 5 and a Prologue 1. I've been running them for some time with EI Elites - grey plates (EI12AXE). I recently changed my source and I find that with the new source the EH 12AX7A a better choice - it tightens up the bass and has a little less energy in the upper-mid range/highs. Mainly I like the bass better. But the EI's work extremely well and initially I preferred them by some margin over the EH's that came with the units. Its also possible that the amp's tone has changed with breakin. Mine are now over a year old and get lots of use.Hope tht helps a bit.
