They sound like VERY good solid state amps (or at least like very good SS amps should sound!). They have very low noise and distortion, a very good soundstage and don't pull any punches at the frequency extremes. All but the soundstage bit is very hard to accomplish with a vacuum tube design, so he has done a great job with them. I have heard the whole system sound darker with a darker sounding pair of speakers connected but overall they are quite free from colorations. I have even directly compared their smallest amp, the Atlas, to a Bryston 3BSST amd and came away with the exact same impression only both the bass and highs were slightly softened as the Rogue amp there used EL34 tubes.
