I replaced the V1 with a Mullard 12ax7 I had pulled from the D70II..Phono lost most of its hum..Stil has some hiss. Sounds incredible!

One more Q: With the SP6 off, and the D70 on, there is hum. But if I mute the SP-6, the hum goes away. Ground loop I'm guessing. Removing the ground jumper at the back does nothing. Since I'm not rack mounted, should I connect the 2 chassis with a wire?
