How does a test lab measure the cathode temperature? Seems to me measuring the temperature at the pins would not be really accurate as the sockets will act as a heat sink. Using an optical pyrometer on the innards will be swamped by the glow of the filament, not to mnention the exposed filament can be very small.
I would like to know how the temperatures are measured, anyone?Stu
